Welcome to the Company Section area of the 1st Falkirk website. The Company Section have another busy programme planned for session 2011/12. We have many activities planned into the diary already including Battalion/National competitions for football, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, first aid & cross country running. Our popular spring weekend trip to Scott Lodge, Glen Clova is booked for March. We are also currently investigating plans for a summer camp in 2012.

 

At 1st Falkirk we pride ourselves in the diverse range of activities and badge work we offer boys as they progress through the ranks. We run certified courses and practical activities in First Aid and Health & Safety during the session. We also follow the BB awards framework including Discovery, Presidents Badge, Challenge Plus & Queens Badge. Our boys also very much enjoy taking part in the cookery classes which are run by Mrs Tough.

 

On top of this we also offer all of our boys the opportunity to take part in, and hopefully achieve Duke of Edinburgh awards. David Young, Grant Profit & Russell Croal received their Duke Of Edinburgh Gold Award from HRH Prince Phillip at Holyrood in Edinburgh during the summer - this being the culmination of many years of hard work and activities. This coming session, we will have six boys working towards their Gold award and their Queens Badge and a further four boys starting their journey working towards their Presidents Badge and Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award.

 

We continue to be members of the Tartan Army Youth Supporters association and as such are awarded tickets for all of Scotland's home international matches at the National Stadium - Hampden. We attended the recent matches V Denmark, Czech Republic and Lithuania.

 
Some of the highlights of the activities mentioned above can be viewed on this website. The Company Section meet every Friday night in Grahamston United Church Hall, Bute Street between 7.40pm and 10pm. The boys age ranges from 11 to 18 years old.
