On this site you can find details of the meeting times and activities of the Anchor Boys, Junior Section and Company Section.

Message from the Captain

I would like to welcome you to the 1st Falkirk BB Company website. I hope you find the site interesting and helpful. We have a strong connection with our boys & their families, our church and our former members and I hope all parties viewing our site will find it an interesting resource.

Russell Croal, Company Section Warrant Officer, mans the site for the company and is doing a great job indeed. The Company strength at the moment is 56 boys, whish is broken down into 17 Anchor boys, 16 Junior Section boys and 23 Company Section boys. We have a total of 15 staff and 3 helpers at present.

2010/11 was a very busy session for all three sections of this company. In particular the session marked my 50th year at the 1st Falkirk Company - starting as a boy, Nco, Officer and then Captain. We celebrated in the Company Section with a Munro climb (Ben Chonzie), our weekend at Scott Lodge, a Burns Supper and finally a BBQ at my house for everyone.

In July three Company Section boys received their Duke of Edinburgh Gold awards at the Palace of Holyrood - this being a great achievement indeed and was followed by a good day out in the capital with Officers and their parents. This coming session we have a further 6 senior boys working towards their Gold awards.

Queen's Badge and Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award and 4 starting on their Presidents Badge and Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award.

I am also pleased to report that we were able to contribute £200 to the our Local Salvation Army in Falkirk and further donations to some overseas appeals - this is what the Boys Brigade is all about.

We have our annual weekend trip to Scott Lodge booked for March 2012 again. We are also planning a Summer Camp for 2012. The boys attended the Scotland matches V Czech Republic and Lithuania.

Finally any of our old boys out there, please feel free to contact us either by this website or pop in on a Friday evening some time.

The section OIC's will now tell you a bit more of what goes on here at the 1st Falkirk BB Company.

Message from the Chaplain

It's wonderful that in this modern world of hi tech surroundings there are still organisations like the Boys' Brigade. And it's even better to see that an ideal rooted in 19th Century is making use of such modern facilities as a web site.

This is an excellent way to keep up to date with what the Company is doing.

I commend the work of The Boys' Brigade in Falkirk, and this website to all boys and their parents in this area.

May God's Blessing surround you all.

Rev Ian Wilkie

Chaplain - 1st Falkirk BB Company
